We are pleased to announce a major milestone, managing £5bn in contracts for SSEN Transmission in support of the UK’s energy infrastructure and transmission goals.

The achievement marks more than a decade of dedicated partnership, covering over 250 projects across the North of Scotland. Our software has delivered digital contract management to support more than 2,200 construction professionals and associated partners working on large-scale infrastructure and maintenance projects.

Key projects include the Caithness-Moray HVDC Link, which saw the installation of a 113km subsea cable in the Moray Firth between 2014 and 2019. Other major infrastructure projects we’ve supported include the Finstown Substation, the Syke Reinforcement, and the Shetland HVDC Subsea Link.

Each project benefited from our contract management software, streamlining the process with live, compliant updates through an operational dashboard.

In March, we were contracted to support Air Insulated Substation (AIS) works at an extension serving the area between Caithness, Sutherland, and Ross and Cromarty.

Simon Hunt, strategic account director at Sypro, said: “This milestone reflects the strength and longevity of our partnership with SSEN Transmission – one built on mutual trust, aligned values, and a shared commitment to delivering high quality infrastructure.

“Over the past decade, we’ve worked closely with SSEN Transmission to ensure our contract management software supports not just the successful delivery of projects, but also the broader operational and strategic goals of a modern, future-focused transmission network.

“Our role goes beyond providing a digital platform – it’s about protecting investments, enabling confident decision making, strengthening collaboration across complex project environments, and embedding governance and compliance into the way teams work every day.

“We’re proud to support SSEN Transmission on this journey and look forward to continuing to play a role in the delivery of critical infrastructure that connects communities and powers the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.”

To date, more than 50,000 communications and 14,000 early warnings have been logged through our platform between SSEN Transmission and its partners, helping to reduce risk, streamline coordination, and avoid costly delays.

Our software supports a wide range of contract types, including New Engineering Contract (NEC), Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT), and custom agreements. SSEN Transmission has primarily used NEC3: Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC), typically applied to major engineering works, fostering a collaborative approach between contractors, consultants, and clients.

Marc Ducorroy, procurement and commercial manager at SSEN Transmission, said: “Our work with Sypro over the past decade has been instrumental in supporting the efficient delivery of some of the UK’s most ambitious and complex energy infrastructure projects.

“Its contract management platform has helped us maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and collaboration across our supply chain – all of which are vital to delivering transmission networks that are reliable, resilient, and ready for the future.

“As we accelerate the transition to a low-carbon energy system, it’s essential that every part of our delivery model is fit for purpose – from physical assets to digital systems. Sypro’s capability has added real value across hundreds of projects, helping us deliver on time, manage risks proactively, and maintain trust with our partners and stakeholders.”

Looking ahead, our partnership with SSEN Transmission will see us continue working closely to deliver vital energy infrastructure in support of Scotland and the UK’s energy security and clean power targets.
