Multi-academy trust onboarded with Risk Manager

A multi-academy trust, compromising of three primary schools and one secondary school which serves almost 2,000 students in the Furness peninsula, Cumbria, has been onboarded to our Risk Manager software.

Furness Education Trust formed in 2019 as the result of a merger of two academy trusts and the trust was looking for a piece of software to support with risk management and the frequent reports on the risk register that the trustees require.

As a result of its growth, the trust needed somewhere central to store compliance, policy and risk information, and engaged with us to implement Risk Manager following meeting us at a conference. It has now been using our system since Easter 2022, utilising the risk register, compliance management software and health and safety policy management.

What did the onboarding process involve?

A simple onboarding process got Furness Education Trust and its team onto the software through a simple pro forma approach to make sure that all data and information was input correctly and in the appropriate format.

We also worked with those people from the trust who will use Risk Manager regularly to implement a clear training process. This included a detailed tour and demonstration to help all users understand not just how to use the software, but how the system will support them day-to-day.

Only a few months into using Risk Manager, the trust has already seen great success in tracking its risks – and crucially reporting on them too. The system’s export function allows them to quickly produce detailed reports from the data, making sure they can share vital information and tasks with those they need to.

The trust is also finding the compliance tracker to be incredibly useful for managing site checks and compliance with health and safety, which they will be looking at implementing further over this summer.

Amy Warner, communications manager who manages the software at Furness Education Trust, said: “We continue to be impressed with Sypro, both with the software and the service provided by the support team. The onboarding process was simple and clear from the start, which was incredibly helpful in getting all users completely onboard with using the system.

“The client care element of onboarding was excellent, with frequent communication with our account manager and anyone else involved with getting us set up. The training provided was detailed, clear, and had everything needed to set us up for success – and we’re now reaping the benefits by tracking and reporting on any relevant risks, as well as tracking our overall health and safety and compliance checks.”
