Meet Saqib, our new Client Services Support Engineer

Sypro are upping the stakes with a new member of the team. Saqib Zubair joins as a Client Services Support Engineer with the job of answering customer enquiries. Before all that, he has to answer the Q&A.

  1. Tell us about the new role?

To provide Sypro customers and clients with support through requests made on the helpdesk via email and phone.

  1. How did you find out about the job and what made you apply?

It was discovered through LinkedIn. The idea was to look for new experiences which would give me opportunities to expand my career. Sypro will hopefully give me this as I get to work with colleagues and stakeholders.

  1. Is there any type of training involved?

Regular 1-to-1 sessions going through recent and newly received ticketed enquiries.

  1. Where do you hope the role will take you?

I think this role can give me insight and experience to other areas in the business. I’ve become more open about future opportunities and not limit myself to one area. So, should opportunities arise such as a product owner or QA tester, then I’ll definitely give it a go.

  1. And what’s your background?

I graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from Manchester Met University. I’m currently studying part-time for an MA in UX Design at Falmouth. I live in Leeds so luckily the course is all done online.

  1. The studying must have an impact on your time?

I’ll be balancing work life and studies and continue to focus on the MA on evenings and weekends. I’ve been doing well enough to keep up with the studies through the first two modules so hopefully this will continue over the next year.

  1. Word has it you are thinking of relocating from Leeds to Hull?

Only if I could use teleportation! Joking aside, I have always had relocating in mind since I applied for the job. Hopefully, and if things go to plan, the move should be soon.

  1. What do you do in your spare time?

I like to play football and the pitches I play on are just a short bike ride away. I also enjoy playing the PlayStation on the weekend.

  1. What’s been your favourite boxset TV series?

Arrow (an American superhero series based on the DC Comics character the Green Arrow).

  1. What makes a perfect weekend in your hometown of Leeds?

Roundhay Park has a lake which is perfect for walking around. It’s enjoyable and relaxing especially after a long week.
