Dr Kershaw’s Hospice was opened in 1989 following the conversion and development of a 1930s cottage hospital originally built with a legacy from Dr John Kershaw, a local GP. The Hospice has undergone a number of building programmes, which has included expansion and refurbishment that offers high quality patient accommodation.
The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with non-curable, life-limiting illnesses in a peaceful and homely environment. Palliative care is an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients. Palliative care is appropriate for patients at all stages of illness, including those undergoing treatment for symptom control or rehabilitation as well as patients who are nearing the end of life.
Dr Kershaw's Hospice is continually looking to at ways to to make internal processes more robust. With the expansion of services, internal and external monitoring demands Spyro CAM has been introduced at a critical point in the organisations improvement strategy.
Their current monitoring systems are either paperbased or seperately stored within an excel spreadsheet.
How did Sypro help?
The installation of Sypro CAM has allowed the hospice to centralise a range of data and information including:
- Re-active and planned maintenance
- Employee Mandatory training compliance
- Audit programme
- Quality reporting schedule (internal and external)
- Asset register
- Asbestos register
- Risk assessments
- Health & safety Compliance
- Upload & record key documentation (lease agreements for our 4 retail shops, servicing/warranty certificates, individual employee compliance inc. DBS clearance certificates, NMC registration dates, etc)
The software will allow Dr Kershaws Hospice to gain more of a control and give assurance that mandatory compliance is being managed effectively. It will also reduce the administration resources by automatically flagging all reviews/updates by alerting the relevant personnel or department in a set timeframe, thus improving efficiency.
